Tidbit Video is a specialized editor for creating "PNGtuber" style videos. It focuses on syncing static images to audio with zero manual keyframing.
Prerequisites
- A Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave) is recommended for best performance.
- At least two images for your character (Mouth Closed and Mouth Open).
1 Character Setup
In the Pose Gallery (right sidebar), click "Upload Sprites". You can upload multiple states for your character.
This is your default. Assign a "Closed Mouth" image and an "Open Mouth" image.
Add states for "Happy", "Sad", "Angry", etc. Each needs its own Open/Closed pair.
2 Audio & Script
Navigate to the Script tab. You have two options:
- Record: Click the microphone icon. Grant microphone permissions if prompted. Speak your lines clearly.
- Upload: Drag and drop a .wav or .mp3 file into the upload zone.
Tip: Shorter audio clips (under 30 seconds) are easier to edit and sync.
3 AI Processing
Once audio is added, Tidbit automatically runs Whisper AI locally to transcribe the text.
Tidbit generates a System Prompt based on your character's available poses.
Copy this prompt and paste it into any major AI model (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.). The AI will generate a perfectly formatted animation sequence JSON.
Paste the JSON back into Tidbit, and watch your character come to life instantly with emotion and timing.
4 Manual Refinement
The AI isn't perfect. You can manually tweak the timeline:
- Drag blocks to change timing.
- Click a block to change the assigned pose.
- Right-click to delete an event.
